Global Navigation Chart, Sheet 5-N, 4th ed, scale 1:5,000,000 This report locates and describes 12 microwave facilities in a probable link between Omsk and Novosibirsk, and possibly extending east to Krasnoyarsk, USSR. The report contains a line drawing, photographs, and mensuration of these facilities. Available photography and intercept data indicate that a microwave relay line probably exists between Omsk and Novosibirsk, and possibly extends east to Krasnoyarsk, which is a terminal for a north-south R-600 line.- Twelve of 29 suspect locations have been confirmed on photography; nine of these facili- ties are between Omsk and Novosibirsk. The remaining three facilities are located between Novosibirsk and Krasnoyarsk (Figure 1). The entire search area is covered by KH-4 photography of poor-to-fair interpretability. The cities of Omsk. nd Krasnoyarsk are Additional photography o higher resolution might permit 1 en ifi.ca ion of other suspect facilities in the search area. Four of the 12 facilities have been described in a previous report.G Each of the 12 facilities is secured by a fence, except those at Tatarsk and Omsk. A typical facility contains a self-supporting tower, a control building, and several support buildings. The Omsk TV/Microwave Facility and the Kras- noyarsk Probable TV/Microwave Facility both contain a transmitter building. The Kuybyshev, Tatarsk, and Krasnoyarsk facilities also contain guyed towers. Details of the 12 facilities are listed below. The type, height, and orientation of the antennas cannot be determined due to lack of photography of suitable interpretability.
