1. In response to the referenced requirement ten specified areas in China
were searched for new A and E band radars.
2. In addition to the radar sites reported in and 25X1
I one new radar site, two new possible radar sites, one known
possible radar site, and one known radar plant were observed that may be related
to the new large-type radars. Results of the search and photographic coverage
required to negate each of the search areas are as follows:

3. Mission Irevealed a new radar facility at
43-46N 115-14E, nautical miles (nm) south-southwest of A-paha-na-erh-chi,
China. The facility consisted of two large height-finder radars, two YAGI-
type radars and one -possible radar. The facility was not present on Mission
Search Area #6
4. Mission- revealed a possible radar facility at
39-06-20N 101-502 E, 10 nm southeast of A-la-shan-yu-chi. The facility consisted -pieces of a of four possible radars and 14 unidentified nt. No new radars
were observed here on me 25X1

5. A possible radar facility was identified at 43-17-25N 126L-34-18E, 5.5 nm
northwest of Hang-tao-ho-tzu, on The site 25X1

7. revealed an unidentified possible radar
at the Cheng-tu Radar Plant 749 at 30-4o-38N l04-07-05E. Further
examination of the photography indicated that the possible radar may be similar to
the new large radars seen at Suuji and Yin-chuan. Interpretability of the
photography precluded mensuration or accurate identification of this possible new
radar.
8. All known radar and electronic sites in the search areas were checked
and, other than what is mentioned above, no large or unusual pieces of electronic
equipment were discernible. Mensuration, orientation and artists sketches of
antennas and equipment are not possible at this time due to scale and
interpretability of the photography.
