This is the first identification in the Baltic area of a site of this type, which is normally associated with the LA-17 target drone. The site was under construction in On small-scale 2 511 coverage of lit appeared to be occupied by drones. The presence of a permanent drone launch site on the Baltic coast suggests that the firing of SAMs from naval vessels will continue in that area. Similar sites have been found in the Northern and Black Sea Fleet areas, where naval SAM testing has also been recorded. 25X1 Approved For Release TP/c E RET -RDP78T04759A0099 001 25X1 25X1 25X1D Approved For Release 2004/01/15 : CIA-RDP78TO4759AO09900010007-2 Next 1 Page(s) In Document Exempt Approved For Release 2004/01/15 : CIA-RDP78TO4759AO09900010007-2 For I_sSiQQQ(gr1 15: CIA-RDP78T0 759AO09 LAOTION PANHANDLE AREAS, Approved For'pa% j(/15 : CIA-RDP78T047 9 25X1 D 25X1 D Approved 25X1 NORTH VIETNAM/LAOS POL Pipeline Construction Continues POL pipeline construction is continuing in the panhandle areas of North Vietnam and Laos. Recent photography indicates that the southern- most of the two pipelines serving he Laotian panhandle is now connected to the port of Quang Khe. There is also slight evidence that this pipe- line will be connected with the pipeline extending from the port of Vinh into the northern Laotian panhandle (see map). Segments of the southernmost pipeline serving the Laotian panhandle were first observed on photography of Although only inter-2 5X1 D mittent segments of pipeline have been seen along portions of this route, photography of indicates that it is almost certainly complete between Quang Khe and the Se Bang Hieng Valley in Laos. T rminus of this pipeline in Laos is not certain. Photography during I Irevealed 25X1 D traces cut through the Laotian jungle south to Muong Nong, u it is not known whether POL pipeline has been laid along these traces. On photography, an 0.6-nm segment of pipeline has been identified in the North Vietnamese panhandle between the two major pipelines. The extent of this newly identified pipeline is undetermined because of insufficient low-level coverage of this area of North Vietnam. 25X1 25X1 Approved For Release Ave /0 15_6 X1 X1 r ReleasK/?J1 E1 09900 25X1D Approved For Release 2004/01/15 : CIA-RDP78TO4759AO09900010007-2 Next 1 Page(s) In Document Exempt Approved For Release 2004/01/15 : CIA-RDP78TO4759AO09900010007-2 Approved For Release 2004/01/15 : CIA-RDP78TO4759AO09900010007-2 Top Secret Top Secret Approved For Release 2004/01/15 : CIA-RDP78TO4759AO09900010007-2
