LU-TA STEEL PLANT

The Lu-ta. Steel Plant is located at 38 58N - 121 37E in Dairen, China.
The plant contains one side-blown converter shop, one probable
blooming rolling mill, one probable foundry complex, a forge fabrication
complex, and numerous associated buildings.
1 Photography revealed very little
smoke emanating om e s ac s an ere appeare to be a moderate amount
of rail and road traffic. The spaces between the various buildings were
replete with ingots and fabricated materials.
The only change since is the addition of one 2
large building '(Figure 2, anno a ion , arrow in t e forge fabrication
complex and a few smaller buildings throughout the plant area.
1 disclosed that the monitors on the
side- own convey er s op ~lgure , annotation l~ had been removed and
a few small buildings had been erected in the plant area.. A moderate
amount of smoke was discernable a.nd the spaces between the buildings
were replete with what appeared to be fabricated materials.
