IN ADDITION, THESE OAK REPORTS WILL INCLUDE TARGETS OF OPPORTUNITY WHICH APPEAR TO BE OF UTMOST INTELLIGENCE SIGNIFICANCE. THE PHOTOGRAPHIC REFERENCES INCLUDE ONLY THE BEST FRAMES. THREE OF THE FIVE AREAS VISIBLE ONI ARE CLOUD FREE ON 25X1D 25X1D THESE ARE AREAS 39 49 AND 51 IN ADDITION. AN SA-2 SAM LAUNCH :5 E WAS IDENTIFIED. THE TOWN OF PLESETSK IS COMPLETELY CLOUD COVEREDo AND AREAS 1 AND 2 ARE ONLY BARELY VISIBLE THROUGH HEAVY CLOUD COVER AND HAZE. FOR PI9 THE PHOTO QUALITY IN THE CLOUD FREE AREAS IS INFERIOR TO THAT OF PRECLUDING MORE 25X1D DETAILED ASSESSMENT OF THESE UNIDENTIFIED AREAS. FURTHER PHOTOGRAPHIC COVER AND MORE STUDY ARE NEEDED TO CONFIRM OR NEGATE ICBM ACTIVITY. DESCRIPTIONS OF THE AREAS OBSERVED FOLLOW. AREA 3 -- THIS AREA ALSO CALLED PLESETSK WEST AREA) REMAINS ESSENTIALLY UNCHANGED FROMI THE ACTIVITY NEAR THE RAIL25X1D AND ROAD JUNCTION 1.5 NM SSE OF THE UNIDENTIFIED SECURE INSTALLATION APPEARS TO BE A SECURED STORAGE/SUPPORT TYPE ACTIVITY. AREA 4 -- A BETTER TRAFFIC PATTERN IS NOW DISCERNIBLE IN THIS AREA tALSO CALLED PLESETSK SOUTH AREA). THE RAIL LINE PASSES THROUGH THE NORTHERN HALF OF AREA 4 AND CONTINUES TO AREA 3. AT LEAST TWO THROUGH RAI"W SPURS9 59400 FEET LONGS PARALLEL THE THROUGH RAIL LINE IN TI-CIS NORTHERN SECTION. NUMEROUS BUILDINGS ARE SITUATED BETWEEN THE RAIL SP'JRS. THE SOUTHERN HALF OF AREA 4 APPEARS TO BE HOUSING. WITH AT LEAST 6070 BUILDINGS. A RAIL TURNING WYE IS LOCATED 1.5 NM SOUTH OF AREA 44 AREA 5 -- THE SAM SUPPORT FACILITY IS UNCHANGED: SAM SITE -mm AN SA-2 SITE IS SITUATED AT 62-43-35N 40-43-40Es 11.8 NM EAST OF PLESETSK AND 5.6 NM SOUTH OF THE SAM SUPPORT FACILITY. THE SAM SITE IS NOT CLEARLY DEFINED BUT APPEARS FULLY OPERATIONAL. THE ENTIRE CENTER IS COVERED, 8UT CONDITIONS PRECLUDE INTERPRETATION OF MOST FACILITIES. IN THE SAM FACILITIES, ONLY THE PROTOTYPE HERRINGBONE, R & Ds AND SUPPORT AREAS ARE CLEAR. THE FOLLOWING CHANGES ARE APPARENT ---- AN OPERATIONAL SA-?2 SAM SITE IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION BETWEEN THE YO YO GUIDANCE SITE 25X1D AND THE SUPPORT AREA F- I WITHIN THE R & D AREA IS A NEW PINWHEEL SITE SIMILAR TO THAT TED PREVIOUSLY IN THE 25X1 D SA-3 AREA 25X1A 25X1 D 25X1A IN THE SSM FACILITIES, NO NEW LAUNCH COMPLEXES ARE NOTED NO CHANGE IS APPARENT IN THE ROCKET LAUNCH COMPLEX, WHICH IS VISIBLE. THE OTHER COMPLEXES ARE CLOUD COVERED. IN THE PROBABLE AERODYNAMIC MISSILE FACILITIES, ONLY LAUNCH COMPLEX D IS VISIBLE THROUGH HEAVY HAZE. NO EXPANSION IS NOTED? THE ASM AND AAM FACILITIES ARE OVERCAST. HAZE AND. CLOUDS COVER THE SUPPORT BASES. 0- VAMYSHIM REA ICBM DEPLOYMENT SEARCH 50-06N 045'24E THE AREA WITHIN A 30-MILE RADIUS OF KAMYSHIN WAS SEARCHED, AND THE ONLY SIGNIFICANT ACTIVITY NOTED WAS AN SA-2 SAM SITE IN THE MID STAGE OF CONSTRUCTION 8 NM NNE OF KAMYSHIN. SAM SITE APPROX 48-47N 045-43E AN OPERATICNAL SA-2 SAM SITE IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION AT THE LOCATION GIVEN ABOVE, BETWEEN THE YO YO GUIDANCE SITE AND THE SAM SUPPORT AREA. 15.
