Photography has revealed an installation, situated
18 nm (nautical miles; north of Kasli, USSR, in an area of heavy cloid
cover (Figure 1), which consists *A- series of three probable high-
explosive test facilities (items 1-3, `Figure 2) and a probable "test
staging facility" (item 4, Figure 2). These facilities appear ko be of re-
cent construction, as indicated by several small excavations (item 5,
Figure 2) used for obtaining construction material. It is nof'believed
that these facilities are associated with guided-missile activity.
The significance of these facilities may be reflected by their simi-'
larity to high-explosive test facilitie

Cloud cover prevents determination of the relationship between
these three facilities and the Kyshtym complex, and also precludes
determination as to the existence of additional associated facilities.
Approximate dimensions of the structures and clearings at the
probable test facilities (items 1-3, Figure 2) are as follows:
Bunkers -- identical in size and shape, 90' x 30' x 25' h w/70'
opening.
Probable 'tanks _ - - serniburied and relatively positioned at each
Buildings -- positioned at open side of bunker, one 30' x 15'
and one 15' x 151.
Clearings -- irregular in size and shape, separ'ated by one mile.
