INTERNATIONAL DOCK SHIPYARD
SHANGHAI, CHINA
The International Dock Shipyard, located in Shanghai on the east bank-
25X1 D of the Huang-pu River, has expanded greatly since the -previous photo
cover - Formerly a relatively. minor facility primarily engaged
25X1 D in ship repair, a study of shows that this installation
now has a large shipbuilding capability. -
Six shipbuilding ways, leach 250 feet long, a transverse launching way,
25X1 D 430 by 180 feet, and a- launching basin, 320 by 190 feet, have been con-
structed since M. These.facilities appear to be Soviet designed for the
accelerated production of ships up to 180 feet in length. -
Many new workshops and administrative and storage buildings have
25X1 D been constructed. Total roof cover of the shipyard is 392,000 square feet,
of which over 80 percent or 323,000 square feet has been constructed

25X1 D One patrol escort, probably Kaibokan Class #1.
--Four PGMs, each approximately 85' long.
Five river patrol boats: three approximately 85' long, two (under
construction) 60' long.
Eight river steamers of the following lengths: 185', 160', 155'.,
145', 120', 115', 110', and 70'.
Three barges, each 105' long.
Two tugs, one 75' long and one 70' long.
Three floating cranes: - two jib and one shearleg.
