SUBJECT: Suspect SSM Facility 'Near Warsaw, Poland
REFERENCES: (a) Requirement AFIC-15/61
(b) NPIC Project JN-189/61
1. This memorandum is in answer to Requirement AF IC-15 which
requests photoanalysis of an installation covered on KEYHOLE Mission
9019 and located at 51-53N 21-30E; 35 miles southeast of Warsaw, Poland:
This installation is described in the AFIC Requirement as an "SSM la, nch
and support facility. "
Z. After thorough study, NPIC does not identify this facility as an
SSM launch and support facility. Although the installation is located in
the forest and is road-served, the configuration is not similar to that of
the IRBM/MRBM launch areas identified on Missions 9 017 and 9019. W r_i_e
positive identification of the activity cannot be made from this photo. gra:7h-, ,
the area may possibly function as a small storage facility.
