Sibay (52-43N 58-40E) is 57 miles southwest of Magnitogorsk at the
terminus of a single-track railroad (Route 490A)* serving the copper-
mining operations and grain-storage facilities in this area. As shown
on the accompanying line drawing, the rail facilities include the following:
rail yard, 3, 400 feet long, ten tracks wide; holding yard, 1, 200 feet long,
eight tracks wide; locomotive or car repair shop, 110 by 65 feet, contain-
ing three stalls, with connecting shop, 80 by 40 feet; turning wye, effective
length 350 feet; and passenger station, 195 by 35 feet.
