25X1 D A study of photography shows that the single-track,
Russian Standard gauge railroad from Orsk (51-15N 58-30E) to Dombarov-
skiy (50-52N 59-20E) was being extended in the direction of Buruktal (50-50N
60-47E), 53 nautical miles to the east. Only 25 kilometers of this new rail
line, east of Dombarovskiy, was covered by this photography. In this sec-
tion active railroad construction Was in progressA track was being laid, and
a large bridge was under construction.
The Soviet press reported that this new rail line from Dombarovskiy
to Buruktal had gone into operation in 1960 to aid in the exploitation of
nickel deposits in the Buruktal area.
