 Komsomolsk Airframe Plants 126 and 130 and the Komsomolsk
Airfield are located in the northeastern outskirts of Komsomolsk, USSR,
at 50-36N 137-05E. According to the Target Mosaic these plants are
engaged in the production, overhaul and repair of jet fighter aircraft
and are the only known producers of combat aircraft in the Soviet Far
Plant 126, located 500 yards southeast of Komsomolsk Airfield,
occupies an area roughly 2, 800 feet square and has a roof cover of
approximately 984, 000 square feet. Plant 130, located on the west side
of the Komsomolsk Airfield, 1, 000 yards northwest of Plant 126,
occupies an area about 3, 500 by 2, 100 feet and has a roof cover of R5
approximately 50, 000 square feet. Both plants are rail served and
fenced.
Komsomolsk Airfield is the test and flyaway field for aircraft
produced by Plants 126 and 130. The runway, oriented north/south,
measures approximately 6, 400 feet by 260 feet. At the time of phot,
raphy there -,-.,ere 98 FRESCOE, one probable CAB, two liaison-type
and one small unidentified aircraft on the field.
