I TOP SECRET RUFF 25X1A -1- 25X1 D TOP SECRET RUFF SEARCH FOR ELEVATED ELECTRONICS EQUIPMENT AT SA-3 SAM SITES, USSR This report provides an answer to that portion of DIA requirement DIAXX 63-78 re- questing a search of photography for elevated electronics equipment at SA-3 surface-to-air missile (SAM) sites other than those covered by the 'earlier part of the requirement and reported on in NPIC/R-183/63. 1/ The latter publication presented information on 14 SA-3 SAM sites, all of which appear toRfave serious radar masking conditions, and on the towers observed at some sites, which may reduce these conditions by elevating radar antennas. As a result of the current study, an ele- vated electronics position similar to a probable radar position reported earlier 2/ has been observed at four sites, and possible elevated electronics equipment has been observed at one site.
