This report is a partial answer to DIA re-
quirement DIA-API-63-88, to verify or pinpoint
the location of Soviet military garrisons in
Poland and to perform a photo analysis to de-
termine boundaries of the installationsoto de-
termine function, number and dimensions of
buildings, to estimate troop capacity, and to
identify and describe related training areas and
facilities and ammunition or POL storage.
This report is a supplement to PIR 32-59 1/
which was based on TALENT
photography was also used to compile this re-
port. In addition, the best available KEYHOLE
photography was used to determine changes in
the installation since - The installation
described below is shown in Figure 1.

PIR 32-59 designated this area Straus Mil-
itary Barracks containing:
66 barracks with a total of 1,028,500 square
feet of floor space
7 administration buildings with a total of
84,100 square feet of floor space
12 storage buildings with a total of 141,800
square feet of floor space
18 vehicle maintenance buildings with a total
of 175,500 square feet of floor space, and
5 buildings of undetermined function and
undetermined floor space.
The only change revealed by the latest avail-
able photographic coverage is that the athletic
field mentioned in the report no longer exists.
The training area appears active. No ammuni-
tion or POL storage observed.
-Troop capacity is computed on a basis of 50 square feet
of space per man.
