1. This memorandum is forwarded in response to your above mentioned
requirement which concerns a search and description of a reported hydro
electric power plant near Chao-Ping, Communist China.,
2. No hydro electric power plant was discernible within the Chao-Ping
area. The area of search covered a 30 run radius of the reported location
(24-06N/110-48E). The only unusual activity identified within this area is
a possible area of construction which does appear near the reported location
(see enclosure). This possible construction activity appears unusual and is
evident within the flood plain on both sides of the river approximately 5 nm
south of Chao-Ping. This activity, if it is in fact construction activity,
is in very early stages and this coupled with the photo quality does not per-
mit further interpretation at this-time.
3. Only two cloud-free -photo missions we
area - these are
respectively. inotography from the latter mission was poor
quality higp oblique and was not used in this study.
4. The photo-analyst assigneti to this project was

ing this project. This memorandum completes this project.
