1. Reference requirement request a description of the oilfields and
refineries at Lens;-hu, Yu-sha-shan and Yu-ch'uan Tan, China. This description
is to include an evaluation of its level of activity, a description of changes
or recent expansions and, if possible, an estimation of production capacity or
status of operation, and an annotated photographic enlargement of the refinery
and oilfield.:
Analysis of the best available photography covering, the area of the
coordinates given. revealed the presence of the reported oilfields but did not
reveal any refineries. The oil producing areas observed in the, Tsaida_TMm Basin
appear to be ;,ell defined. The Leng-hu oilfield is on a north south axis and
is coamosed of more than one geological structure. There are approximately
200 ':ells and 4+5 crude storage tan?-:s of varing sizes scattered about the field.
In general expansion and development of the field appears to be nearly static.
The Yu-ch'uan Tzn oilfield covers a mach smaller area than the Leng-hu oilfield
with approximately 5':' :,ells and open pit crude storage.: It to appears to have
reached its maxi- : m development. The Yu-:':ha-shan oilfield ;:as observed just
north of Yu-ch'uan Tzn but due to the topography:- of the foothills in this
vicinity an estimation of the potential size of limits of the oilfield could
not be deters in_ed fro- the photography .
