1. This memorandum is in response to the above referenced requirement
concerning a railroad and road study from Lan-chou (36? O3'N - 103? 50'E)
to Urumchi (43? 47'N - 87? 36'E).
2. This study is based on ho 25X1D
respectively, which provide complete coverage
from Lan-chou to Urumchi.
3. The rail line from Lan-chou to Urumchi is operational to Urumchi. A
branch line from Ching-shui-chuan (39? 22'N - 990 21'E) to Shuang-cheng-tzu
(40? 25'N - 99? 44'E) and a branch line from Ta-ho-i (37? 49'N - 102? 52'E)
to (370 33'N - 1040 05'E) where the line joins the Lan chou - Chung Wei Rail
line have been included in this report.
4. The road which parallels the rail line from Lan chou to Urumchi is a
two-lane, graded, all weather road.
5. The photo analyst assigned to this project was
who may be contacted on extension 2546, should there be any er questions
regarding this study. This memo is considered to be a complete answer to the
above referenced requirement.
