;OVIET AIRCRAFT }LL VEHICLES
GPI - 135
18 October 1955
reports the completion of an intex-ml request to
attempt to determine the fuel capacity of two Soviet aircraft refueling
vehicles imaged in
recent ground photograph..
One vehicle i;s ima,ed in exposures 3 through. 6
dated 6-8 July, 19 ti. Desirable photograraretric data was lacking, but
calculations were lased on the estirnted height of a ran standing near
the vehicle. It s deterndned that the tank-trailer is 25 feet long,
3.9 feet deep, and ; 6.4 feet. Zaire. ??'ith these dimensions, the tans:
trailer would have 'a capacity of appro~cirrately 3900 U. S. gallons.
Another ground photograph of an aircraft refueling vehicle is
found on page 36 of the 6 June 1955 issue of GFA'1Z1MANSK4Y ; AVIATSIYA
(Civz.l Aviation).
Comparing the ratio of wheel heights to height of
vehicle it is evident that the ve icle shown in the ragazipe is larger
than the vehicle imaged in the at the photography.
This inforrntion was del-Iv red orally to the requester, who was
satisfied and did not require additional data nor a written report.
