(2) CIA/PID Project No. C 485/64 1.e This memorandum is in response to the above referenced requirement requesting a detailed photo analysis, using comparative photo coverage, of the Port Wallut Port Facilities. 2. Port Wallut is the northern most North Viet-Nam Port and is located on northern side of Ile De He Bad (island) at 21012'N/107032'E. This port has limited facilities and does not appear to be expanding, as no construction activity was noted. 25X1 D R- The detailed analysis on Port Wallut was made from 25X1 DI __,.-, i., + - a l ; r overacts from e p only 25X1 V1 to date. This mission revealed the port facilities consisting of two one wharf with approximately 280 feet t l 0 f ee piers, each approximately 13 ong, of berthing space, one nT? head pier extending approximately 150 feet from the shore line with 400 feet of berthing space across the head of the "T", one warehouse approximately 140 by 55 feet, and an open storage area associated with the wharf. Docked at the wharf are two coastal freighters, one is appro-ximately 120 feet long and the other is approximately 130 feet long. The "T" head pier does not have any vessels docked at it and is usable only by small vessels, as the pier is located in shallow water. The two piers, which are associated with the warehouse, each have six "swratoti" PF class vessels docked at them. CIL The numerous buildings lining the coast do not appear to be part of facilities.
