1. This memorandum is in response to your requirement dated 7 April
1964 which requests the confirmation of a reported SAM site west of Aswan
Airfield,' Egypt, and the identificatiox V .ny of its associated SAM equipment.
2. Photographyitransmitted under (CIA
photo numbers 975286 through 975295) shows a SAM site with its six launch
positions and guidance position revetted, and its support facility under con-
struction west of Aswan Dam Airfield. There are no missiles or missile-
related equipment evident within the revetments or the adjacent area. This
site is located five nautical miles west of the southern end of Aswan Dam
Airfield at approximately 23-56N 32-44E-
