In response to the above requizmmnt%, a search within a 25 nautical ails (na) radius of five epicenters obtained from seismic signals has been made for evidence of sassive explosions or land- slides resulting from earthquakes. The first XZMLa photo coveragp after the events was examined for the given sites. The results of the search are negative. Ccuments on the five areas searched and listings of photography used in the study follow: A. Site Location: sO.( 72.62, No evIdengi-of explosives being center near crest of mountain range. What appears as a vent within a crater of a volt-"4c-origin peak is located 8 na IWW of the epicenter, but there is no evidence of recent eruption. A large crater-lilac depression was located 25 ni k of the epicenter; this also has the appearance of a landslide feature of geologic age. D. Site Location: 1i2.3s 72.2=, No unusual activity or signs of explosive use was noted. The epicenter coordinates are located on a slope leading from mountains to a tributary valley. Various esamles of past naJor movement such as landslides, fallen rock, and offsetting of ridges were observed; however, none of these features appear to be of recent origin sinos there was no change noted in their relative positions between 2. to analysts on this project were Messrs. 25X1A who smy be contacted on extensions 2935 and 2317. re- apertively you have further questions regarding the requirement. 3.
