This report is one in a series on Soviet Ground Force and Logistic
installations being prepared for a I)l \ C'1 A Panel. The series is being
coordinated, published and disseminated by NPIC. The photographic
analysis is being performed b% the APIC: Photographic Analysis Group,
the CIA Photographic Intelligence Division (NPIC), and the Production
Center 111Ic (1)IA). A he photographic analysis for this particular re-
port was performed by the Production Center 1P lc.
In the interest of uniformity, the titles and letter designators for
the facilities observed at these installations are identical with those
appearing in the project requirement. When a specific facility is not
observed both its title and letter designator are omitted in the report.
Titles and letter designators for the various facilities are as
follows: (:A) railroad" service, t13) road service, (C) landing strips,
(D) administrative and troop housing, areas, (F) storage areas, (F) am-
munition storage areas, (G) PC)1. storage areas, (11) other buildings and
facilities, (J) equipment storage 'maintenance areas. (K) athletic fields,
(L) small arms firing ranges, (\1) driver training areas, (N) tank'
assault gun firing ranges, (P) flat trajectory firing ranges, (Q) artillery
emplacements (batteries), (It) infantry or combined arms field train-

A small, regimental-size barracks instal-
lation is located in the northern corner of
Skole (49-02N 023-31E) (Figure 1). The
installation covers approximately 62 acres and
appeared to be under construction in --
.-A driver training circuit was the only
training facility noted within 15 kilometers (km)
of Skole. A double-fenced storage area, possibly
for explosives, is located across the main
road from the installation.
The installation was covered bv KEY-
HOLE mission in-

Railroad Service
Rail lines pass through Skole, but do not
serve the installation.
Road Service
Good all-weather roads serve the instal-
lation, which is adjacent to the Stryy-Oryava
road.
Administrative and Troop Housing Area
Area D contains two C-shaped multistory
barracks, one multistory administration build-
ing, three support buildings and four storage
buildings.
Ammunition Storage Area
Area F is double fenced and contains one
guard building at the entrance, one guard
tower, and one unidentified 75- by 35-foot build-
ing possibly used for explosives storage, and a
possible underground bunker.
Equipment Storage/Maintenance Area
Within Area D is a 325- by 25-foot motor
vehicle maintenance/storage building (J). A
cleared area in front of this btilding is pos-
sibly a hardstand for vehicles. A road leads
from the building to the driver training track.
The installation contains an oval-shaped'
driver training circuit (M), approximately 550
feet long and 325 feet wide.
