2-5 kilometers km~ southeast of ( Nita a.nd 1(1
km northwest of the Sinn Soviet border rail
crossing. f3nrzya is the l:u eest urban on-plea
between and the border and berets as a
rail center for the area. "I he complex is screed
by three spurs of the ('hita-Utpc)r line of the
Trans-Siberian railroad and by a probably hard
surface, all-weather road to points north and
south. The apparent intermingling of civilian
and military activity in i3orzva precludes deter-
mining the extent of ground force military hil-
leting. Such a determination is further compli-
cated by the presence of some 13orzva NW air-
field support facilities situated on the western
edge of the city.
Most of the probable ground force related
military activity is apparently concentrated be-
the center of the town. I he complex apparently
contains appr()xim uely sir aninrative and
h;... ,.cks ht:il iings, I- gone al stn: a;
build- support buildings, and 11 prob-
able vet icle nr equipment maintenance buildings.
llthougit !'t 1! . other general stora~_e areas
are locate in the town, a military function can-
not be confirmed for these facilities. In addi-
tion, those facilities in apparent support of the
airfield are not included in this report.
-1he complex has apparently undereone no
change since initial coveraee

north of the complex in association with a main-
tenance and storage and billeting facility.
Rail Service
:A single through spur. a loop snot, a siding
and an undetermined nun?her of trackside and
rail-end loading docks serve the complex. Rail
service is provided for a powerplant and a
probable motor vehicle maintenance and stor-
age area.
Road Service
The entire complex is served by a network
of probably hard surface, all-weather roads.
Aircraft Landing Strip
I he Complex contains the 13o.-zva A\\ .Air-
field 7,r1-24\ Ilb-211:',.
Administrative and Troop Housing Areas
Area h1 contains 22 barracks and 22 small
support buildings probably Iatrines).
Area D2 contains two administrative huild-
inzs. 14 11,17-racks buildings and
six support buildings.
.\rea fl3 contains four administrative,"bar-
racks buildings and two suppo:-t buildings.
Area I)4 contains I1 admmni.~tratiyr/bar-
racks and three ~ rpport buildings. a
\rea I-).:; contains three adnainisrrative/bar-
racks iuiIdings _-d four support buildings.
Area 1)6 contains two administrative/bar-
racks and two support buildings.
Area 1)7 contains nine barracks and seven
small support buildings.
Area IBS contains 26 barracks and 13 sup-
port buildings-
f-ace billeting, area apparently houses a
separate element of probable support troops.
There has been no apparent change in these
facilities 1 ite billets appear
occupied
.\reas I )I an 1)2 resemble modern

urban housing. TI-heir proximity to the military
activity observed suggests a possible military
administrative and hillc?ting function.

Area E3 is a probable open storage area
with four support buildings and rows of material
within the secured area.
Area E4 is"a probable open storage area.
POL Storage Areas
Two POL storage areas are located in the
civilian area of Borzya. Their relationship to
the military activity cannot be determined.
Other Buildings
Area fit, rail served, contains 16 general
complex support buildings (including power-
plant).
Area H2 contains nine malnr support build-
ings and undetermined number of buildings
and sheds within a walled or fenced area. Its
proximity to civilian activity suggests a non-
military function.
Equipment Storage/Maintenance Areas
Area J1 contains one 185- by 65-foot, one
160- by 50-foot, one 275- by 65-foot and four
