'In responb.e to Requirement No. C..S14-81,471 (C 953-64), a photo- graphic analysis was performed on the Lake Issyk Kul region, USSR (42 30N-- 72 30E), in order to confirm or deny the presence of suspected torpedo testing facilities at each of thie following locations: Chong-Saryoy (42 35N-76 55E); Grigoryevka (42 40N-77 30E); and Chongdzhargylchak (42 11N-77 37E). 2. Analysis olf the latest available KH.4 coverage of these areas has failed to reveal features which couli;i'~ be related to torpedo.or military testing or to a possible Hydrodynamics Institute. ,The very minor pier facilities observed at Chong-Saryoy and Grigoryevka on the north side of Lake Issyk Kul appeared to be located in shallow waterl No pier facilities were noted at Chongdzhargylchak. All three settlements appear to be agricultural or resort areas. 3._.As'per agreement between the requestor and thi? PI on additional information pertaining to each of these agricultural/resort areas has already been informally provided to the requestor. 4. It should be noted that Sheet NK 44-4, Series IESPA-1, Edition 1-AS, carries a for edo'and 'n testing facility .in.the vicinity of 43 34N-78 18E.
