This memorandum is in response to your requirement dated 29 June 1964 in which you request mensural data, sketches and enlargements of specific items at Launch Co lexes B and G, Tyura Tam Missile Test Center derived fromiI [lissio, 25X1 2. Included as attach?ments to Eh -Is me-iiorandiim ' are the photographic enlargements of Complexes B and G, as requested, plus line drawings of the 25X1 launch stand at Complex B, t at launch area G-~+ 25X1 On t launch stand at Launch Complex B, two horizontal booms 25X1 measuring extend from the base of the gantry which measures Figure Braces appear to extend from the corners of the 25X1 strut ure to the launch platform. The gantry and booms appear to consist of heavy materials and may possibly be enclosed with a solid covering; however, construction details cannot be discerned on available photography. At Launch Area G-I+ the gantry is positioned 1170 feet to the rear of the launch pad (Figure 2). The shadow of this gantry indicates that it is either solid or almost solid as no indications of lattice work can be identified. The gantry is 200 feet high and 70 feet wide and appears as wide at the top as it does at the base, indicating that the sides are close to vertical. It appears to be,20 to 25 feet wide in what would be the direction of movement. The shadow clearly shows an open area in the upper half of the structure, starting 125 feet above the ground. The opening is rectangular and measures 65 by 4+0 feet, and is enclosed on the sides and top by members 15 feet wide. 25X1 S- 1`3Dct5 25X1 25X1 25X1 25X1 App roved For ReleasIOP 3SE R SUBJECT: Mensural Data on Selected Facilities at Tyura Tam Missile Test Center On the side -of the gantry away from the launch pad, two parallel members are positiongd in line with the expected: direction of. gantry motion.
