This report is one in a series on Soviet Ground Force and Logistic
installations being prepared for a DIA/CIA Panel. The series is being
coordinated, published and disseminated by NPIC. The photographic
analysis is being performed by the NPIC Photographic Analysis Group,
the CIA Photographic Intelligence Division (NPIC), and the Production
Center 1Plc (DIA). The photographic analysis for this particular re-
port was performed by the CIA Photographic Intelligence Division.
In the interest of uniformity, the titles and letter designators for
the facilities observed at these installations are identical with those
appearing in the project requirement. When a specific facility is not
observed both its title and letter designator are omitted in the report.
Titles and letter designators for the various facilities are as
follows: (A) railroad service, (B) road service, (C) landing strips,
(D) administrative and troop housing areas, (E) storage areas, (F) am-
munition storage areas, (G) POL storage areas, (I-I) other buildings and
facilities, (J) equipment storage/maintenance areas, (K) athletic fields,
(L) small arms firing ranges, (M) driver training areas, (N) tank/
assault gun firing ranges, (P) flat trajectory firing ranges, (Q) artillery

A possible explosives storage site is lo-
cated approximately 28 kilometers (km) north-
northwest of Barnaul and 5.5 km southwest of
Ozerki (Figure 1). The installation is not rail
served; however, a rail spur appears to be
under construction between the installation and
the Barnaul-Novosibirsk rail line. The instal-
lation is served by unimproved secondary
roads which connect it with the Barnaul-Novo-
sibirsk highway.
The installation (Figures 2 and 3) encom-
passes approximately 850 acres and includes
seven revetted possible bunkers, eight clearings
for bunkers, one possible administrative/bar-
racks-type building, and one support building
in a wooded area. The installation has a per-
imeter firebreak but there is no evidence of
a security fence. There has been no apparent
change in the installation since its initial cover-
age

Road Service
Unimproved secondary roads provide ac-
cess to the installation.
Administrative and Troop Housing Area
Area D (Figure 3) contains one possible
administrative /barracks -type building.
Ammunition Storage Area
Are F contains seven possible bunkers
measuring approximately 65 by 65 feet and one
support building measuring 95 by 65 feet. There
are U-shaped revetments around each bunker.
