This report is one in a series on Soviet Ground Force and L8gistic
installations being prepared for a DIA/CIA Panel. The series is being
coordinated, published and disseminated by NPIC. The photographic
analysis is being performed by the NPIC Ph aphic Analysis Group,
the CIA Photographic Intelligence Division ( IC), and the Production
Center 1P19 (DIA). The photographic anal s s for this particular re-
pbrt was performed by the CIA Photographic Intelligence Division.
In the interest of uniformity, the titles and letter designators for
the facilities observed at these installations are identical with those
appearing in the project requirement. When a specific facility is not
observed both its title and letter designator are omitted in the report.
Titles and letter designators for the various facilities are as

A munitions storage afea is located on the
northern edge of Kansk, 2 kilometers (km) north
of the Kan River (Figure 1). The installation is
served by a one km spur of the East Siberian
railroad system and streejs of the urban com-
plex. Numerous secondary roads link the in-
stallation internally. The 'storage site is se-
cured by a single fence and surrounded by a
perimeter firebreak. The entire area is wood- i
stallation (Figures 2 and 3) encom-
passes 1,1bO acres and contains a total of 109
buildings. It consists of six administrative
buildings/barracks, 42 munitions storage build-
ings, 32 general orage buildings, and 29 sup-

The installation is served by a rail spur with
nine sidings.

There are no airfield, directly, related to

southern section of the city

ings and 1,8 support buildings.
Ammunition Storage Area
Area F contains twelve 280- by 75-foot
storage buildings, seven 175- by 40-foot storage
buildings, six 200- by 50-foot storage buildings,
four'300- by 50-foot storage buildings, one 170-
by 75-foot storage building, and 12 storage and
seven support bud dings of undetermined size.
All measurements are approximate due to poor
film quaJ~ty.
