The Brest Fixed Field MRBM Site is lo- cated in a small, heavily wooded area, at an approximate elevation of 540 feet, 2.2 nautical miles (nm) southwest of Pishcha in the Belorus- 25X1 sian SSR. The site was first observed 25X1 I lat which time it 25X1 25X1 25X1 25X1 25X1 25X1 consisted of three launch positions in a straight line and an associated large clearing. Ina small cleared area north-northwest of the site were some possible tents tent bases. The road network of the site also appeared to have been improved. When next ob- site appeared active. An erector -like object was apparent on each of the four launch positions and three ready tents or buildings were present in the associated large clearing. In addition, the area containing possible tents/tent bases had been expanded and now contained a larger number of possible tents/tent bases. This period of ex- pansion and activity encompasses approximately 18 days. At the beginning of the perio~ the Brest launch areas had an erector present on each of the eight launch pads. Un- fortunately, the launch areas were not covered hen the field site was active. 25X1 The site was again covered 25X1 I lat which time the launch posi- 25X1 tions were empty. The possible ready tents/ buildings remained in their clearing as did the possible tents/tent bases. A building had been constructed in a small clearing a short distance west-northwest of the site. The site appeared inactive. The site was next covered changed and inactive. Launch Areas No 1 and 2 were first ob- 0 identified and considered complete The fixed field site is 16.4 rim southwest o Launch Area No I and 18.9 nm southwest of Launch Area No 2. Launch Areas No I and 2 have a rail-to-road transfer point in Malorita, 3.0 and 4.5 nm away, respectively, while the field site probably uses a siding 6.5 nm to the west-southwest at Tomashovka, east of Wlodawa, Poland. The field site is situated adjacent to a junction of several roads of the local road net- work with service roads leading from the local roads to serve four launch positions. Three of the positions are in a northwest-southeast line Inortheast of the center of the middle 25X1 25X1 0 25X1. 25X1 25X1 25X1 25X1 25X1 25X1 of the line of three positions. Associated with the positions is another clearing containing three possible ready tents or buildings meas- uring 155 by 30 feet. The three launch posi- tions in line, starting with the southernmost position, measure 25X1 I respectively. The 25X1 and contains a possible structure 65 feet square. 25X1 Located 2,700 feet north-northwest of the center of the line of three positions is an area con- taining an undetermined number of tents or tent bases. A building measuring 100 by 40 feet is situated in a small clearing 4,295 feet west of the center of the line of three positions. The azimuth of the four positions is 230 degrees, which closely approximates the azimuths of Launch Areas No 1 and 2, which are respectively. No security fencing tent area and buildings.
