An ammunition storage depot
_ is located on the southern outskirts of the
rural town of Kolbasna, USSR, at coordinates
47-45-30\ 29-12-30E. It is approximately 9.5
nautical miles (nm) southwest of the town of
Slobodka and 8.5 nm east of the city of Rybnitsa
(Figure 1). The depot is about SO nm northeast
of the Rumanian border. A single arch-roofed
storage building % vas constructed at the depot

The facility is a heavily secured ammunition
storage depot which contains 33 warehouses, 25
of , hich are protected by low revetments. The
depot also contains a number of smaller support
buildings, an abandoned building, a probable
buried building, an arch-roofed storage building,
and an open storage area (Figures 2 and 3).
The installation is rail served; the rail lines
provide the depot with direct access to Rybnitsa
and to the transportation facilities of the Dnestr
River. Installations in the vicinity of the depot
are presented in Table I. A chronology of con-
struction at the depot is presented in Table 2.
DESCRIPTION OF ARCH-ROOFED
STORAGE BUILDING
The arch-roofed structure is located on the
southwest side of the depot (Figure 3). It

approximate time period as the arch-roofed

warehouse- were removed from the southwestern part of the site and an acee>- road had
been constructed. The road provided access to two concrete pads: one pad was adjacent
to the future sit, of the arch-roofed structure and the other. to the future site of a probable
buried huilding.
The arch-roofed building was probably completed: haze inhibited an adequate view of the
building.
