This memorandum is in response to the above requirement requesting a comparative analysis of the Dong Hoi, North Vietnam Port Facilities. CIA/PID Project No. IB - 107/61+ and the most recent photography available were specified for comparison. 2. Dong Hoi (CIA/PID/IB-P-61+/65)remains a minor port of North Vietnam. The few changes that have taken place since the previous report are, in most cases, a. deterioration of port facilities. No active construction is evident on the most recent photography. ' 3. The four warehouses noted in the previous report exhibit no change on photography. The administration building south of the warehouses has had 25X1Dits shape altered and now measures 40 X 20 feet. It appears that the function of this building has also been changed, and it is interpreted as a probable warehouse. ' The open area west of the four warehouses contains two probable grain storage structures. This area is also used for open storage. No new storage buildings are evident. ' 1-. The "T" head pier east of the warehouses appears in disuse. It still 25X1D extends approximately 90 feet from the shore, but the stem leading to the loading platform has shifted slightly up river. Cargo transfer is now probably done on ' the beach adjacent to the pier. The "T" head pier under construction in 25X1is now complete. It measures approximately 30 X 10 feet and extends feet into the river. No storage facilities are associated with this pier.
