Vol,- ,gograd Army Barracks West 3 is adjacent to this installation on the south and southwest. The 375-acre installation has a barracks area consisting of 68 buildings, a sod landing strip, 2 motor parks, a vehicle maintenance area, an abandoned S-gun AAA site, 2 special training facilities and a com- bined-arms training facility (Figures 2 and 3). 25X1 D A comparative analysis re- veals the addition of 2 new earth mounds to the east of the barracks area area. These new facilities-were first observed in the first photography covering the area since Although recent cov- erage does not reveal the presence of as many vehicles and aircraft as did the mission, the area appears occupied and contin- uously active with the exception of 2 buildings under construction in the vehicle maintenance area. Railroad Service The installation is served by a rail spur run- ning along the western boundary from a multi- track rail line 3 km north-northwest. Good, hard-surface, all -weather roads serve the installation. A 2,200-foot sod lan:lini sr.rip (C) is located just north-northeast of the barracks area. It has a tar'iway leading to an :p! t- and one p~ ~s- sihle light aircraft. 461 Administration and I roop Housing Area Area I) contains 6 multistory barracks, I multistory l`-shaped administration huildirig. 1 administration building, 43 quarters, 2 srn:rll security buildings, 3 storage buildings, .rnd 12 support buildings. Throughout the area there are 1 1 revetments large enough for a ,,,an or trailer-type vehicle. Four of these re- vetments, all the same size, are located at the base of the mound. One 55- by 25-foot build- ing is located 560 feet from the mound and is probably connected to it by cable: Area S2 contains 2 earth mounds similar to the oiie described in Area S1. No revetments are visible in the area: however, ground scars ,are apparent at the base of the mounds. :Unidentified Facility Area I consists of a revetment almost sur- rounding an earth mound, and 3 small buildings. 25X1 D 25X1 C Handle Via TALENT-KEYHOLE Control System Only TOP SECRET CHESS RUFF
