This report is one in a series on Soviet Ground force and Logistic
installations being prepared for tl DI:\'CI:\ Panel. The series is being
coordinated,. published and disseminated by NPIC. The photographic
analysis is being perforated by the NPIC Photographic Analysis Group,
the Cl.\ Photographic Intelligence Division (\PIC), and the Production
Center 11)la _I he photographic analysis for this particular re-
port was performed by the Production (:enter 1P1a.
In the interest of uniformity, the tltIes and letter designators for
file facilities observed at these installations are identical With those
appearing in the project require moot. A\ hen a spe cif it facility is not
observed hoth its title and letter designator are omitted in the report.

A military barracks area is located 5 kil-
ometers (km) west-southwest of Shalushka (Fig-
ure 1). This installation covers 400 acres and
contains 35 barracks, 17 multi-unit quarters, 10
general storage buildings, 6 administration
buildings, 4 general purpose buildings, 2 supply
buildings, 2 vehicle repair shops, a vehicle shed,
and a water tower (Figures 2 and 3).

There were no changes discernible on any of the
missions.
DESCRIPTION OF INSTALLATION
A rail terminal is located in Nalchik 10.5
km south.
A hard-surfaced, 2-lane road extends north-
east and east 5 km to Shalushka. Another road
leads to the rail terminal in Nalchik.
Area D contains 17 dependents quarters, 35
barracks, 5 administration buildings, 2 general
purpose buildings, 2 supply buildings, and a water
tower.
Area L1 contains 2 general storage
buildings.
Area L2 contains S general storage build-
Sngs, I administration building, and 2 general
purpose buildings.
Area J contains a 700- by 320-foot motor
park, a 600-by 65-foot vehicle shed, a 230-by
60-foot vehicle repair shop and a 1.50-by 60-foot
vehicle repair shop.
Driver- hrainint Area
Area .Al is a triple-loop, wheeled-vehicle
driver-training course.
