This report is one in a series on Soviet Ground Force and Logistic
installations being prepared for a DIA/CIA Paned. The series is being
coordinated, published and disseminated by NPIC. The photographic
analysis is being performed by the NPIC Photographic Analysis Group,
the CIA Photographicitelligence Division (NPIC), and the Production
Center 1Pla The photographic analysis for this particular re-
port was performed by the Production Center 1Pla.
In the interest of uniformity, the titles and letter designators for
the facilities observed at these installations are identical with those
appearing in the project requirement. When a specific facility is not
observed both its title and letter designator are omitted in the report.
Titles and letter designators for the various facilities are as
follows: (A) railroad service, (13) road service, (C) landing strips,
(I)) administrative and troop housing areas, (F) storage areas, (F) am-
munition storage areas, (G) POL storage areas, (II) other buildings and
facilities, (J) equipment storage 'maintenance areas, (K) athletic fields,

Rostov Army Barracks Northwest is lo-
cated in Rostov (Figure 1), approximately 4.8
kilometers (km) north-northwest of the Rostov
Railroad Bridge over the Don River
It is one of many small mi nary
installations scattered throughout Rostov which
is the headquarters for the North Caucasus
Military District.
The area occupies approximately 2Q acres
and contains 4 administrative-type buildings,
6 probable barracks, and 3 vehicle storage
buildings`(Figures 2 and 3).
Comparative analysis
reveals no apparent military activity. There
has been no significant change in physical
facilities since initial coverage.

Area D1 contains 4 multistory probable
administration buildings.
Area D2 contains 6 probable barracks.
Equipment Storage 'Maintenance Area
Area .1 contains three 110- by 40-foot
vehicle storage buildings.
