- Please note the following with regard to NPIC/TP-12/63, Ephem-
eris and Camera Orientation Data Mission 9045:
Correction and refinement in the method of determining roll from
horizon images on KEYHOLE Missions has resulted in more accurate
values for roll. In order to incorporate this information in the values
published previously, an adjustment .value has been computed. This
is a?constant signed value to be added to each of the previously published
roll values for. all frames of this mission, The adjustment valtte.foi
this mission is +00? 18'.

PREFACE
roll value for the ,desired forward camera is the same as that given for the time-related

For convenience, the data have been arranged in two parts: Part I pertains to the forward
camera and .Part , II to the aft camera. Within each part the data. have been arranged by
photographic, pass. Within-the individual passes it is arranged by frame number. Ascending
(south-to-north) passes are suffixed with the letter "A." Descending (north-to-south) passes
are suffixed with the letter. "D." Pa$s.es that have the cameras on during bot}~ their ascending
and descending phases are suffixed, with.the letter "M."

This publication contains the ephemeris for the cameras ,employed in Mission 904.5.
It also contains the pitch and .roil for the aft camera for passes 1M through 30A inclusive,
31 A, and pitch for the .first 75 frames of pass 38D. -Pitch and roll. information for passes
subsequent to 30A is-summarized in tabular form on page 135.
The pitch values for `the forward camera ,have not been computed for any pass except
those estimated for 36A (s ~e page 135). Values for the forward camera may be obtained from
the given aft camera .pitch. This may be done by using the aft camera frame that has the
vehicle -time ' (in the, same pass) nearest to the desired forward camera frame instead of
by frame numbers only. This forward camera ,pitch c,an be computed by subtracting the
absolute. pitch value of the aft camera (the one most nearly corresponding to the tir~te value
of the desired forward camera) from 29 degrees and 57 minutes and changing the sign. The

Definitions of certain terms used in this publication follow: '
Time Difference - The interval of time in milliseconds between clock readings of con-
secutive, frames. ~ . Clock , readings aft designtrd to be taken at the time. of exposure of the
center of the format;, consequently, the;. time difference is approximately. the same as the
camera cycle period.
Camera Nadir -The geodetic la,eitude and longitude of the camera at the time of exposure.
Format, Center . - The approximate geodetic latitude and longitude of the center of .the
format., as computed from the. Camera Nadir position. This computation is based upon the
,w
altitude of the camera at the a time of exposure and the designed ,pitch angle of the camera.
,Altitude -The distance from the vehicle to the Hough ellipsoid at ~e foot of the perpen-
dicular. , ~ ~
Velocit -Ground speed of the nadir point (feet .per second)..
Azimuth -Angle of the ground track with respect to geodetic coordinates.
Pitch -Longitudinal orientation of the vehicle. (si gnn?convention - - positive pitch equals
",nose-up" attitude):
Roll -Orientation of'the vehicle ,transverse to its own longitudinal axis (sign convention --
ositive_roll equals "left-wing-up" attitude).
