This report is one in a series on Soviet Ground Force and Logistic
installations being prepared for a i~l:~ /CI:1 Panel. The series is being
coordinated, published and disseminated by \PIC. The photographic
analysis is being performed b}~ the \PIC Photographic analysis Group,
the C1:~ Photographic Intelligence- Division (\PIC), and the Production
Center) 1Pla (l~l:\l. The photographic xma]vsis for this particular re-
port was performed by the Production Center 1PIa.
In' the interest of uniformity, the title. and letter designators for
the facilities observed at these installatirn~s nre identical with those
appearing in the -project requirement. \~~hen a specific facility is not
obser~~ed both its title and letter designator are omitted in the report.

The Tallinn Army Barracks is located in
the southern part of Tallinn, approximately 290
kilometers (km) north of Riga and 310 km~vest-
southwest of Leningrad (Figure 1).
This installation covers approximately 660
acres and contains 92 buildings: 2 adminis-
tration buildings, 2 barracks/administration
buildings, 2-1 barracks, 30 storage buildings, 14
equipment storage/maintenance buildings, and
20 support buildings. Other facilities include
2 housing areas, an athletic field, and 2 driver-
training areas (Figures 2 and 3).

tion of a barracks and the removal of 2 or more
support buildings.
The rail line between Tallinn and Nomme
passes along the eastern side of the installation.
The installation is served. by city streets.

;The Tallinn/L'lemiste Airfield is approxi-
mately 4 km east and the Tallinn/Lasnamae
Airfield is approximately 7 km northeast.
Area D1 contains 2 large multistory bar-
racks/administration buildings, 5 multistory
barracks, 9 other barracks, ~ support build-
ings, and a_ housing area.
Area D2 contains a C-shaped multistory
administration building, 10 multistory barracks,
and 9 support buildings.
Area D3 is a housing area with an admin-

Three small POL areas are in the vicinity
of Tallinn.

feet, and nvo 130 by 80 feet.
Area J2 contains 8 storage/maintenance
buildings: one 1~0 by 30-50 feet, three 220
by 65 feet, one 210 by 50 feet, one 190 by 3~-~0
feet, one 130 by 50 feet, and one 160 by 30
feet with wings -10 by -f0 feet.
