This report is one in a series on Soviet Ground Force and Logistic
installations being `prepared for a DIA /CIA Panel. The series is being
coordinated, published and disseminated by NPIC. The photographic
analysis is being performed by the NPIC Photographic Analysis Group,
the CIA Photographic Intelligence Division (NPIC), and the Production
Center IPla MIA). The photographic analysis for this particular re-
port was performed by the Production Center 1Pla.
In the interest of uniformity, the titles and letter designators for
the facilities observed at these installations are identical with those
appearing in the project requirement. When a specific facility is not
observed both its title and letter designator are omitted in the report.
Titles and letter designators for the various facilities are as
follows: (A) railroad service, (13) road service, (C) landing strips,
(D) administrative and troop housing areas, (L) storage areas, (F) am-
munition storage areas, (G) POL storage areas, (11) other buildings and
facilities, (J) equipment storage 'maintenance- areas, (K) athletic fields,
(L) small arms firing ranges, (NI) driver training areas, (N) tank/
assault gun firing ranges, (P) flat trajectory firingranges, (Q) artillery
emplacements (batteries), (R) infantry or combined arms field-train-
ing areas or courses, (S) special training facilities, (T)- unidentified
facilities or tracking activity.

SUMMARY
Mingechaur Army Barracks is located
approximately 4 kilometers (km) west of Minge-
chaur and immediately south of. the irrigation
canal (Figure 1).
The installation, which covers approxi-
mately 215 acres, is under construction. and
contains a troop housing and administration
area with 5 probable barracks and 4 mis-
cellaneous buildings, a general storage facility
with 16 warehouses ;-a possible POL storage
site with 2 support structures and 3 possible
buried tanks, an equipment storage/main-
tenance area with 5 possible equipment/ve-

hide storage sheds and a support building,
and an unoccupied 7-gun AAA site. The road -
from the west side of the installation leads to
an--AAA training site approximately 7 km
away which contains a 7-gun emplacement and
80 other emplacements aligned in groups of 25X1 D
4_ guns each. The road from the east leads
to a SAM support area 5 km away. -
Only KEYHOLE missions, all in 25X1 D
covered t is target:-. Coverage over this area
is exceptionally poor; consequently, compara-
tive analysis cannot be made.
A rail yard-Js- -located 4 km
center of M ngechaur.
P-OL Storage Area

with 1 storage building, 1 support building out- -
side the fenceline, and 3 possible buried tanks.
Good s$condary roads serve the installa-
tion.
Aircraft Landing Strip
Tanrykulular Airfield is located 9 km
west.
Equipment Storage/Maintenance Area
Area J contains five 230- by 40- foot possi-
ble equipment/vehicle storage sheds and 1 sup-
port building.
Area Q is a 7-gun AAA site--which is
Administration and Troop Housing Area unoccupied.
Area D contains 5 probable barracks, 3
administration buildings, and 1 support building. - -
