This report is one in a series on Soviet Ground Force and Logistic
installations being prepared for a DIA/CIA Panel. The series is being
coordinated, published and disseminated by NPIC. The photographic
analysis is being performed by the NPIC Photographic Analysis Group,
the CIA Photographic Intelligence Division (NPIC), and the-Production
Center 1Pla (DIA). The photographic analysis for this particular re-
port was performed by the Production Center iPla.
In the interest of uniformity, the titles and letter designators for
the facilities observed at these installations are identical with those
appearing in the project requirement. When a specific facility is not
observed both its title and letter designator are omitted in the report.
Titles and letter designators for the various facilities are as
follows: (A) railroad service, (B) road service, (C) landing strips,
(D) administrative and troop housing areas, (F_) storage areas, (F) am-
munition storage areas, (G) POL storage areas, (1I) other buildings and
facilities, (J) equipment storage/maintenance areas, (K) athletic fields,
(L) small arms firing ranges, (A1) driver training areas, (N) tank/
assault gun firing ranges, (P) flat trajectory firing ranges, (Q) artillery
emplacements (batteries), (R) infantry or combined arms field train-
ing areas or courses, (S) special training facilities, (T) unidentified
facilities or tracking activity.

SUMMARY
Leninakan Army Barracks North is - lo-
cated on the northwest edge of Leninakan,,
10 kilometers (km) from the Turkish border
(Figure 1). Leninakan Army Barracks North-
east is 4 km east of this installation.
Leninakan Army Barracks North covers
approximately 125 acres and contains 65 build-
ings: 14 barracks, 13 barracks/administration
buildings, 3 administration buildings, 4 vehicle
storage/maintenance buildings, 23 storage
buildings, and 18 support buildings. Other
'facilities include a possible POL storage area,
an ammunition storage area, a small-arms
firing range, and an athletic field. An area
containing possible dependents quarters is ad-
jacent to the installation on the east (Figures
2 and 3).

Comparative analysis reveals
no significant change.
DESCRIPTION OF INSTALLATION
Road Service
The installation is served by city streets.
Area D contains 9 multistory barracks, 5
other barracks, a multistory C-shaped bar-
racks/administration building, 2 multistory T-
shaped barracks/administration buildings, 3
administration buildings, and 7 support build-
ings.
Area E contains 23 storage buildings.
Area F -is a probable secured ammunition
storage area with 8 reverted buildings.
Area G contains 4 possible underground
POL storage tanks.
Area J contains 2 vehicle storage build-
ings (300 by 50 feet and 250 by 35 feet), 2
vehicle storage/maintenance buildings (300 by
50 -feet and 200 by 50 feet), and 11 support
buildings.
An athletic field (K) is located in Area D.
Area L is a small-arms firing range
measuring 350 by 80 feet. -
