No tower having the above characteristics was observed within a 10 mile radius of Dong Hoi. 3. Four towers were observed in the Do no "r_oi area. One tower, located 0.9 rim north of the center of Dong Hoi citadel at 17-28N 106-37E (TN h-72833+) appears to support a beacon and is a probable navigational aid. A second tower, located 4.1 nm SSE of the center of Dong Hoi citadel at 17-247_ 106-38E M -EM =751214L) on the SW edge of an island in the Kien G--;an- (River, eppears to be supporting a land line which spans the river at that point. Two ad_.-tiona l towers, one on each side of the river are probably used to raise the land line to a height that allows it to span the distance to the island cc:r anications. 25X1A 1 oint to point communications station is located .? rim NNW of the center cf Don: of citadel at 17-31N 1O6-34E (LT: )673388) . This s- on contains four pole nests that probably . support two horizontal aipole antennas.
