Three areas of prospecting were observed in the general vicinity,- of Lofeng (eh'!) as follows: (1) On the north flank of a U-shape: ridge are a number of faint traces of possible trenches at 26-O5N/_.17-l5E. Three possible drilling sites are located on the opposite flank (oriented East-West). A faint trail leads up an unnamed mountai:_ stream from the hamlet of Ch'i-yuE;n. (2) Trail served trenches are vis-.,le east of the hamlet of Tung-men at 26-O5N/l1T--O3E, on the east of the valley of an unnamed stream. Four or five possible circular shallow drilling sites-are visible. (3) Two small areas of scarrin;: and possible trenching are visible west of T'eng-tiao-lung hamlet a 26-05i`/117-OOE. A remotely situated small housing area, served by a new road leading Through an easily policed defile, to a series of parallel .trenches is observed at 26-21N/116-53E, 5 rim NNW of Sung-ch'i-yu. one geological and geographical setting is favorable but more information is needed to confirm the presence or exploitation there of uraniferous ores. -5 -/7-,/ '76 25X1 25X1 F7 25X1 ::o visible activity is seen in or about a series of parallel trench .-t 26--231i/116-23E, 2. 5 rim SW of the hamlet of Lung-t' ou-ts' un, rear .est of a mountain ridge.
