this report is one in a series on Soviet Ground Force and Logistic
installations being prepared for a Dl.\ /CIA Panel. The series is being
coordinated, published and disseminated by NPIC. The photographic
analysis is being performed by the NPIC Photographic Analysis Group,
the Cl.\ Photographic .Intelligedce Division (\PIC ), and the Production
Center l1Pla (I)I.\). The photographic analysis for this- particular re-
port %vas performed by the \PIC. Photographic .\nalysis Group.

A probable explosives storage area is
located 16 kilometers (km) northwest of Seltso
(Figure 1). 1
The installation, comprised of a doubly
secured Itorage area and an adjoining support
area, coJers approximately 450 acres. The
storage area contains 21 probable explosives
storage buildings and 1 small building under
construction. The support area contains 1 ad-
ministration building, 1 multistory barracks
administration building, 6 barracks, 4 small
barracks/quarters, 6 storage buildings, 1 ware-
house-type building, 1 large unidentified building
under construction, 1-3 support buildings, 22
probable dependents quarters, an athletic field,
and a small-arms firing range (Figures 2 and 3).
The area was covered on KE? YI 10LIE mis-
sions between
The installation appeared to be occupied. The
only significant changes were the construction
of a large unidentified building and 1 small build-
ing.
DESCRIPTION OF l\ST.\LLATION
Explosives Storage Area
A spur with 4 sidings from the Smolensk-
Brvansk rail line serves the. installation.
Road Service
A secondary road provides access to the
:\drpinistrative and Troop Housing Area
Area D contains 1 administration building,
1 Multistory barracks /administration building, 6
barracks, - small barracks 'quarters, 2 storage
buildings, and' r3,support buildings.
General Storage :\req
Area F contains 4 storage buildings, 1
warehouse-type building, and I large building un-
der construction.
Area F contains 21 p?robable explosives
storage buildings and 1 small building under
construction
Area 11 contains 22 probable dependents
quarters.
