This report is one-in a series on Soviet Ground Force and Logistic
installations being prepared for a DIA/CIA Panel. "The series is being
ordinated, published and disseminated by NPIC. The photographic
analysis is being performed by the NPIC Photographic Analysis Group,
the CIA Photographic Intelligence Division (NPIC), and the Production
Center 1Pla (DIA). The photographic analysis for this particular re-
port was performed by the Production Center iPla.
In the interest of uniformity, the titles and letter designators for
the facilities observed at these installations are identical with those
appearing in the project requirement. When a specific facility is not
observed both its title and letter designator are omitted in the report.
Titles and letter designators for the various facilities are as
follows: (A) railroad service, (B) road service, (C) landing strips,
(D) administrative and troop housing areas, (E) storage areas, (F) am-
munition storage areas, (G) POL storage areas, (H) other buildings and
facilities, (J) equipment storage /maintenance areas, (K) athletic fields,
(L) small arms firing ranges, (M) driver training areas, (N) tank/
assault gun firing ranges, (P) flat trajectory firing ranges, `(Q) artillery
emplacements (batteries), (R) infantry or combined arms field train-
ing areas or courses, (S) special training facilities, (T) unidentified
facilities or tracking activity.'

Saratov Army Barracks Razboyshchina is
approximately 10 kilometers (km) west of the
center of Saratov and 2 km north of the Sara-
tov West . Airfield (Figure 1). The barracks
complex contains a secured administration/
barracks Area and 2 double-secured storage
areas, 1 .east and 1 west of the barracks.
The barracks/administration area covers
approximately 55 acres and contains 9 bar-
racks, 4 `administration buildings, 5 support/
storage structures, a motor vehicle storage
shed, and an athletic field. The west storage
area covers approximately 20 acres and con-
tains. 3 storage buildings and 2 liquid storage
tanks. The east storage area covers approx-
imately 50 acres and contains 8 storage and 4
other buildings (Figures 2 and 3).

no major change.

Area E2 is double-secured and contains
3 storage buildings and 2 possible liquid stor-
age tanks.
Rail service is available in Saratov for
the barracks and storage areas. The rail line
between Tatishchevo' and Saratov is approxi-
mately 1.3 km north of the administration/
barracks area and the east storage facility.
Good all-weather roads serve the area.
Aircraft Landing Strip
Saratov West Airfield is 2 km south of
the installation.
Administrative and Troop 1-lousing Area
Area D contains I L-shaped multistory
administration building, 3 administration build-
ings, 1 multistory barracks, 8 barracks, 3
support buildings, and 2 storage -buildings.
General Storage Areas
Area Ll is double-secured and contains 8-
storage buildings, 1 guard hut, and 3 support
buildings.

POL Storage Areas
Area G, Saratov Petroleum Products Stor-
age West is 1.5 km
northeast of the administration/troop housing
area. It is fenced and covers approximately
40 acres. The area contains .17 POL storage
tanks (3 large, 8 medium, 6 small), 4 hori-
zontal storage tanks, 11 storage buildings, 2
guard buildings, 10 support/administration
buildings, and.'l water standpipe.
Lquipment Storage/Maintenance Area
Area J contains a U-shaped storage build-
ing: Approximately 10 vehicles were parked
in the area in
