Launch Area No 2 is situated in a rolling, somewhat barren area 18.3 nautical miles inml southwest of Aktvubinsk and 7.1 mm southwest of Petrovskiy, in the Kazakh SSR (Figure 1).' 25X1 D Launch Area No 1 was first observed in 25X1 D and was not present 0 In the site was considered to be in an early stage of construction; subsequent cov- erage of the area indicates that the site has Three buildings and an unidentified mound are located on the northern side of the site. Located in the northwestern corner of the site is an enclosed area which may be a - motor pool, although no vehicles are discernible.
