This report is one in a series on Soviet Ground Force and Logistic
installations being prepared for a DIA/CIA Panel. The series is being,
coordinated, published and disseminated by NPIC. The photographic
analysis is being performed by the NPIC Photographic Analysis Group,
the CIA Photographic Intelligence Division (NPIC), and the Production
Center 1Pla (DIA). The photographic analysis for this particular re-
port was performed by the CIA Photographic Intelligence Division
In the interest of uniformity, the titles apo letter designators for
the facilities observed at these installations are identical with those
appearing in the project requirement... When a specific facility is not
observed both its title and letter designator are omitted in the report.
Titles and letter designators for the various facilities are as
follows: (A) railroad' service, (B) road service, (C) landing strips,
(D) administrative and troop housing areas, (E) storage areas, (F) am-
munition storage areas, (G) POL storage areas,. (H) other buildings and
facilities, (J) equipment storage/maintenance areas, (K) athletic fields,
(L) small arms firing ranges, (M) driver training areas, (N) tank/
assault gun firing ranges, (P) flat trajectory firing ranges, (Q) artillery
emplacements (batteries), (R) infantry or combined, arms field train-
ing areas or.courses, (S) special training facilities, (T) unidentified
facilities or tracking activity.

Mary Army Barracks Gokcha is located
on the east side of Mary (Figure 1).
The barracks area covers approximately
110 acres and contains 8 administrative build-
ings, 12 barracks, 5 administrative buildings/
barracks, 18 vehicle maintenance/storage build-
ings, 5 storage buildings, 24 support buildings,
1 ? H-shaped possible classroom building, 1

west of the installation. There are 2 other
airfields nearby, both of which are military and

Area Dl, a probable headquarters area;
contains I L-shaped -administrative building/
barracks, 8 barracks, 2 administrative build-
ings/barracks, 2 probable storage buildings, 1
administrative building, 1 irregular-shaped
possible headquarters building, 2 supportbuild-
ings, I probable messhall,' 'and I probable de-
tention building with 2 guard huts.
Area D2 contains 4 barracks, 3 probable
administrative buildings, and 1 support build-
ing. .
. Area D3 contains 2 L-shaped administra-
tive buildings/barracks, 2 U-shaped administra-

Area JI contains 9 vehicle maintenance/
storage buildings (one 310 by 35 feet, one 400
by 50 feet, one 400 by 35 feet, one 300 by 35
feet, two 270 by 35 feet, one 210 by 55 feet, one
-140 by 35 feet, and one 55 by 35 feet), 1' ad-
ministrative building, and 5 support buildings.
Approximately 35 unidentified vehicles are ob-
served in open areas on-photography.
An unidentified storage tank is located within
the area.
Area J2 contains 9 vehicle maintenance/
storage -buildings (one 145 by 25 feet, one 305
by 35 feet, one 250 by 35. feet, one 150 by 25
feet, one 100 by 20 feet, two 95 by 40 feet, one
100 by 35 feet, and one 90 by 25 feet) and 3
support buildings. Approximately 20 unidentified
vehicles are observed in open areas on_
