TOP SECRET CHESS RUFF
This report is one in a series on Soviet Ground Force and Logistic
installations being prepared for a DIA/CIA Panel. The series is being
coordinated, published and disseminated by NP IC. The photographic,
analysis is being performed by the NPIC Photographic Analysis Group,
the CIA Photographic~Intelligence Division (NPIC), and the Production
Center 1Pla (DIA). The photographic analysis for this particular re-
port was performed b_. the Production Center IPIa.
In the interest of uniformity; the titles and letter designators for
the facilities observed at these installations are identical with those
appearing in, the project requirement. When a specific facility is not
observed both its title and letter designator are omitted in the report.
Titles and letter designators for the various facilities are as
follows: (A) railroad service, (B) road service, (C) landing strips,
(D) administrative and troop housing areas,- (E) storage areas, (F) am-
munition storage areas, (G) POL storage areas, (1-1) other buildings and
facilities, (J) equipment storage/maintenance areas, (K) athletic fields,
(L) small arms firing ranges,. (M) driver training areas, (N)-tank/
assault gun firing ranges, (P) flat trajectory firing ranges, (Q) artillery
emplacements (batteries), (R) ipfantry-,or combined-arms field train-
ing areas or courses, (S) special training-facilities, (T) unidentified
facilities or tracking activity.

A small- secured" military equipment and
vehicle park covering approximately 15 acres
is located in the northern part of Kuybyshev,
and approximately 2 kilometers (km) from the
Kuybyshev SAM support site (Figure 1).
The park contains 6 vehicle storage build-
ings,` 2 possible support buildings/barracks,
approximately 110 vehicles/pieces of equipment,
and 4 revetments probably for POL storage
(Figures 2 and 3).

analysis reveals that 1 maintenance building,
2 vehicle storage buildings, and the POL stor-
age area were added during this period.
DESCRIPTION OF INSTALLATION
VOL Storage Area
Rail facilities are available in Kuybyshev,
3 km south.
Area D contains 2 possible support build-
ings/barracks. -
Area GTontains 4 revetted areas probably
for POL drum storage.
Equipment Storage/Maintenance Area
Area J contains 6 vehicle storage buildings,
two 145 by 40-feet, three 100 by 30 feet, and
one 170 by 60 feet. Approximately 110 vehicles/
pieces of.. equipment are parked in rows in this
area. -
