installations being prepared for a DIA/CIA Panel. The series is being
coordinated, published and disseminated by NPIC. The photographic
analysis is being performed by the NPIC Photographic Analysis Group,

Center lPla (DIA). The photographic analysis for this particular re-

SUMMARY
A military barracks and training area The
is located on the northeastern edge of Yerevan,
approximately 8 kilometers (km? south of the
Yerevan/Yegvard Airfield (Figure 1).
The barracks area covers 20 acres and
includes a communications facility; 3 motor
parks, 2 athletic fields, and a storage area.
The training facility covers approximately 900
acres and includes driver-training courses,
firing ranges, a combined-arms maneuver area,
a tactical POL dump, and ammunition storage
(Figures 2 and 3).

DESCRIPTION OF INSTALLATION
A branch line from Yerevan is 300 meters
north of the installation.
A well defined network of hard-surface
roads serves the barracks and motor pool

areas. Numerous unimproved roads serve
the remainder of the installation.
Aircraft Landing Strip
Yerevan/Yegvard Airfield is located 8 km
north of the installation.
Area Dl contains I T-shaped administra-
tion building, 3 multistory administration build-
ings, 26 barracks, and 28 support buildings.
Area D2 contains 27 barracks/housing units.
Area D3 contains 1 permanent support
building and 40 tent bases.
Area F contains 2 reverted ammunition
storage buildings, 75 by 35 feet, and 3 support
buildings (2 fenced), 25 by 25 feet.
Area G contains- 3 support buildings and
6 --POL storage revetments containing small
POL drums (50-100 gallon size).
Area J1 contains 1 vehicle storage shed,
180 by 25 feet, 2 vehicle maintenance buildings,
100 by 35 feet, and 3 unidentified cylindrical
tanks on the northeastern edge of the area.
Area J2 contains 4 vehicle sheds, two
250 by 35 feet and two 175 by 25 feet, and
2 support buildings, 15 by 15 feet. Vehicle
service facilities are available on the north-
eastern side of the area. Twenty-five to
30 vehicles are parked on hardstands in the
area.
Area J3 contains 1 T-shaped administra-
tion -building, 4 vehicle storage, maintenance
