This report is one in a series on Soviet Ground Force and Logistic
installations being prepared for a DIA /CIA Panel. -The sergies is being
coordinated, published and disseminated by NPIC. The photographic
analysis is being performed by the NPIC Photographic Analysis Group,
the CIA Photographic Intelligence Division (NPlC), and the Production
Center iPla (DlA). The photographic analysis for this particular re-
port was performed by the CIA Photographic Intelligence Division
In the interest of uniformity, the titles and letter designators for
the facilities observed at these installations are identical with those
appearing in the project requirement. -When a specific facility is not
observed both its title and letter designator are omitted in the report.
Titles and letter designators for the various facilities -are as
follows: (A) railroad service, (I3) road service, (C) landing strips,
(D). administrative and troop housing areas,- (E) storage areas, (F) am-
munition storage areas, (G) POE storage areas, (H) other buildings and
facilities, (J) equipment storage /maintenance areas, (K) athletic fields,
(L) ?;mall arms firing ranges, (M) driver training areas, (N) tank/
assault gun firing ranges, (P) flat trajectory firing ranges, (Q) artillery
emplacem_rnts (batteries), (R) infantry or combined arms field train-

A military complex consisting of Bavram
All Armv Barracks (Area A on graphic) and
Bavram Ali Army Barracks SE Area B on
graphic) is located on the south and southeastern
edges of Bavram Ali (Figure 1).
Bavram All army Barracks
I at 37-37-00N 062-09-15E covers ap-
proximately 170 acres and contains 13 barracks,-
7 administration buildings, 15 administration
buildings /barracks, 35 support buildings, 5
probable officers and dependents housing units.

Bavram Ali Army Barracks SE (13E No
at 37-36-25N 062-10-40E covers
approximately 130 acres and contains 4 ad-
ministration buildings 'barracks,5 administra-
tion buildings. 21 probable officers NCO hous-
ing units, I possible officers barracks, 1 possible -
officers -club, 23 support buildings, 2 storage
buildings, 2 possible messhalls, 23 vehicle
maintenance 'storage buildings. 2.athletic fields,
and a probable gymnasium (Figure 4;.
INSTALLATION

Area D1 Bi contains 4 administration
buildings, 21 probable officers NCO housing
units, 1, probable vehicle garage, 7 support
buildings, and 1 possible officers club. This
area possibly support's a Soviet military en-
gineering garrison.
Area D2 B) contains -2 U-shaped admini-
stration buildings barracks-5 support buildings,
1 possible maintenance building, and 3unidenti-
fied circular_storage tanks.
Area D3 ~Bi contains 1 administration
building, 3 support buildings, 2 possible mess-
lialls, 2 probable storage buildings, 1 adminis-
tratibn building 'barracks, and 1 possible offi-

buildings in a walled area. .
POL Storage Areas
Area G (A) contains 5 POL associated
buildings, approximately 30 by 25 feet, and
located within the walled area J I, and 2 possible
earth-covered tanks. -
Area G (B) contains a probable POL storage
area under construction.
Buildings
Numerous small support sheds are located
throughout the 2 areas.
Equipment Storage/Maintenance Areas
Area J1 (A) contains 1 administration
building, 1 irregular-shaped administration and
school building, 8 vehicle maintenance 'storage
buildings, one 240 by 45 feet, one-460b%, 45 feet,
one 140 by 40 feet, one 375 by 35 feet, one 80 by
20 feet, one 90 by 40 feet, one 75 by 35 feet, and
one 115 by 20 feet,, and 1 L'-shaped vehicle
storage building. 235 by 35 feet. with 2 wings
65 by 35 feet. Approximately 120 unidentified

storage buildings, one 125 by 25 feet, one 95 by
40 feet, and one 75 by 60 feet. Approximately

vehicle maintenance;' storage building. Approt i-

Area JI (B) contains Q vehicle maintenance/
storage buildings, three 205 by 35 feet, one 275
by 35 feet, two 255 by 30 feet, one 225 by 30
feet, one 110 by 30 feet, and one 200 by 30 feet,
and 7-support buildings.
Area J2 (B) contains 7 vehicle maintenance,'
storage buildings, one 160 by 36 feet, one 200
by 65 feet, one U5 by 35 feet, one 145 by 36 feet,
one 80 by 40 feet, one 360 by 65 feet, one 00 by
55 feet, and 3 support buildings. Approximately
30 unidentified vehicles were within the area
on photography.
Area J3 (B) contains I L-shaped vehicle
maintenance storage building, '140 by 40 feet.
1 vehicle maintenance, storage building, 50 by
40 feet, I administration building, and I support
building.
Area J4 (B) contains 3 vehicle maintenance/
storage buildings, one 155 by 50 feet, one 280
by .35 feet, one 200 by '25 feet, 2 L-shaped
vehicle maintenance/storage buildings, one 390
by 25 feet and one 2S0 by 25 feet-, and 1 support
building.
, Area. K (A) contains an athletic field-and
a probable gymnasium.
Area KI (B) contains an athletic field.
Area K2 (B) contains an athletic field and
a probable gymnasium.
Small-Arms Firing Range
Area L (B) contains a 50-.by 10-meter
earth- bunkered small-arms firing range.
Driver-Training Area
Area M . (B) contains 1 figure-S wheeled-
vehicle driver-training area aahich appears to
be inactive.
Infantry or Combined-Arms Field Training Area
A training area, approximately 6,600 by
2,000 feet contains a trench system, several

course. -
