The Kazan Airframe Plant No. 22 was first observed in .
and contained at that time approximately 2,511,705 square fee
space. A comparison of this photography with that from
bringing the total floorspace as"of to 2,868,755 square feet-.
The major additions include a 281+,000 square foot addition to a

machine shop/subassembly section, (Item 4, Figure 1- and Table 1)1,a p--rdbable
engineering building (Item 6), a hangar (Item 21), and groundwork for an:
unidentified building under construction (Item 22).. Construction of the
machine shop/subassembly section and the hangar was evident in - 25X1 D
and was com leted by The engineering building was
begun in and was completed by The roundwork on -25X1 D
the new building under construction was started after and 255X1D
was-still in progress when observed in 25X1D
Table I contains the description and dimensions of all major buildings
comprising Kazan Airframe Plant No. 22. All measurements were made by the
NPIC Technical Intelligence Division, with the exception of the heights of
those buildings marked with an asterisk. These.measurements we're made by
the CIA/TAD project analyst and are only approximate.
The plant contains approximately 5,050 and 6,600 linear feet of paved
roads, probably concrete, with an average width of feet respectively.
The-complex is served by 8,400 linear feet of railroad and is secured by
29,000 feet of fenceline. - .
