SEARCH FOR TALLINN/CHEREPOVETS-TYPE DEFENSIVE MISSILE SITES, USSR
This report presents the results of a search within 100 nautical
miles (nm) of latitude 60 degrees between Cherepovets, USSR (59-08N
37-55E) and the Ural Mountains (50 nm north-and south of latitude 60
degrees) for Tallinn/Cherepovets-Type Defensive Missile Activity. This
area is graphically illustrated in Figure 1.
A search of the above area wasZade from the latest and best KEYHOLE
photographic coverage. This search revealed no Tallinn/Cherepovets-type
missile sites in the prescribed search area. Cloud-free coverage of the
entire area was obtained utilizing a collection of photographic missions

This is the fourth of six areas to be searched on thriginal re-
quirement. The first three (100 nm of the border from Ode?sa to Rostov
to Astrakhan, within 100 nm of Tibilisi and Baku, and within 100 nm of -
Krasnovodsk to Mary to Tashkent to Alma Ata) were previously searched
with negative results. The results of these searches were reported in
TCS 11144/64, dated 19 January 1965, and-in TCS 9691/65, CIA/PIR-61013,
dated 4 August 1965. -
Still to be searched on the project are the following areas:
(a) Within 100 nm of Pikalevo, USSR
(b) The border area within 100 nm of Tallinn to Riga and Roja to
Kaliningrad.
Three additional search areas were added to the original requirement
at a later date. These areas, yet to be searched,,are within a 50 nm .
radius of the following locations:
(a) Petrozavodsk
(b) Parakhino (Padubyl)
(c) Kineshma -
The locations and present status of all search areas in this re-
quirement are graphically portrayed in Figure 2.
