This report is one in a series on Soviet Ground Force and Logistic
installations being prepared for a DIA'CIA Panel. The series is being
coordinated, published and disseminated by NPIC. The photographic
analysis is being performed by the \P IC Photographic Analysis Group,
the CIA Photographic Intelligence Division (\PIC), and the Production
Center 1Pla (DIA). The photographic analysis for this particular re-
port was performed by the CIA Photographic Intelligence Division
In the interest of uniformity, the titles and letter designators tor
the -facilities observed at these installations are identical with those
appearing in the project requirement. When a specific facility is not
observed both its title and letter designator are omitted in the report.
- Titles and letter designators for the various facilities are as
follows: (A) railroad service, (B) road service, (C) landing strips,
(D) administrative and troop housing areas, (F) storage areas, (F) am-
munition storage areas, (G) POL storage areas, (I-I) other buildings and
facilities, (J) equipment storage /maintenance areas, (K) athletic fields,
(L) small arms firing ranges, (NI) driver training areas, (\) tank '
assault gun firing ranges, (P) flat trajectory firing ranges, (Q) artillery
emplacements (batteries), (K) infantrv or combined arms field train-
ing areas or courses, (S) special training facilities, (T) unidentified
facilities or tracking activity.

Dolinsk Armv Barracks Sokol YuzhnoGoro-
dok is located 13 kilometers (km) south-south-
west of Dolinsk and 3.5 km south of Sokol (Fig-
ure 1).- -
The installation covers approximately 90
acres and contains 2 administration buildings,
1 barracks/administration building. 5 barracks,
19 storage buildings, 2 small possible ammu-
nition storage buildings, 3 vehicle sheds, 8
probable vehicle sheds, 1 probable vehicle
maintenance building, 6 large possible quarters,
17 possible quarters, 36 possible dependents
quarters, 2 small unidentified buildings, 43
support buildings, a small-arms range, and an

The Dolinsk-Yuzhno Sakhalinsk rail line
passes on the west side of the installation.
The Dolinsk-Yuzhno Sakhalinsk highway
serves the installation.
Area D contains 2 administration buildings,
1 barracks/administration building, 5 barracks,
7 storage buildings, and 39 support buildings.
Area E contains 10 storage buildings con-

site located on the southwestern edge of the
barracks area.
Area L is a 160- by 40-foot probable pistol
range. Only light activity was observed.
