The Siberian Scientific Institute of Aviation (SIBNIA) is located adjacent
to the Novosibirsk Aircraft Plant "Chkalov" 153, on the northeastern outskirts
of the city.
When first observed on TALENT Mission) SIBNIA had
approximately 279,239 square feet of floorspace, as compared with 550,617
The major components of SIENIA are identified on the following line draw-
ing and" table. - "
-There are several areas of special interest. The testing building, (item
6), probably contains major facilities for aerodynamic, thermodynamic, structural,
hydraulic, and electromechanical testing. There doesn't appear to be any
facilities for electronic or acoustical testing. The unidentified construction
activity, (item 19), appears to be preparation for -a large addition to item 11.
SIBDTIA is enclosed, except in the area of buildings numbered 9, by a wall
approximately 10 feet in height. The institute is served by"approximately
5,330 feet of road. It is not rail served.
Table No. 1 contains the dimensions of numbered buildings as shown on the
accompanying line.drawing. Items with asterisk have been added
