CHU-HSIEEN and CHIANG-SHAN in Chekiang Province, China as 25X1D revealed by a study of aerial photography taken between 25X1D The scale of this photography was 1-.75,000 except for partial coverage of the CHIN-HUA area which was a scale of 1:10,500. The camps have been assigned names according to the name of the nearest village as shown on AMS map series L581, numbers 28, 29, 39 and 40. Three annotated prints `enclosures 1, 2 and 3) and a location map (enclosure 4) are included as part of this report. CHIN-HUA MILITARY CAMP NO. 1 C29 ? 0N-19?I380E) CHIN-HUA Military Camp No. I (see enclosures 1 and 2) occupies an overall irregular area 10,0001 X 40001 two miles north of Chin-Hua0 There are 186 buildings in the military camp ranging in size from 235P X 400 to 950 X 3010 Transportation to the camp is by improved all-weather road. Functions of buildings are indicated below: A0 Administration: 14 One building, size 2359 X 400 24 One building, irregular shape, total plan area 7,000 sq. ft0 3. Two buildings, irregular shape, total plan area, 17,000 sq. ft. Transportation to the camp is by improved all-weather road, Functions of buildings are indicated below: A. Access road is suitable for motor vehicles. Camp consists of eighteen buildings ranging in size from 225? X 35? to 50?.X 251. HS IAWANG Military Camp (2/67?A1 - 20/26!92T his small military camp, covering an area 500?X2500, is located thirteen miles west of CHIN HUA and approximately one and one hai' miles north of the railroad Unimproved access roads lead south to the railroad and TANG-CHI. Camp consists of eleven barracks type buildings with average size of 100? X 359. V!, SHANG?HSI Military Installation (29?/04?N - 119?/(44?E),, This facility is probably a military prison. It is located twelve miles northeast of CHU-HSIFN Airfield, No improved roads connect the area to the main highway. One building (2259 X 75?) and twenty four buildings (average size 50? X 25?) are in a walled area 750? X 450?o Fifteen buildings / (average size 50? X 25?) are outside the walls in the immediate vicinity. b) HSI-WNG Military Camp (29?//03?N - 1180/58?E). This military camp, covering an area 900? X 800?' is located eight miles northeast of CHU.HSIEN Airfield and two miles north of the CHU-CHIANO (River). Access roads to the site do not appear suitable for motor vehicles. Camp consists of ten buildings (average size 1500 X 35?) and eight buildings with average size 750 X 35?. CHU-HSIEN Military Camp (28?/58?N 118?/53?E). It consists of approximately 130 barracks type buildings (average size 1509 X 359), 20 administrative and service type buildings (average size 1501 X 359) and an undetermined number of smaller buildings CRI NG-.SHAH Military Camp No. 2(28?/41QN - 118?/359E)P (See enclosure No- 3) This military camp, covering an overall irregular area 68000 X 22000, is located approximately five miles southwest of Chiang-Shan and is served by road only. It consists of approximately 70 barracks type buildings (average size 1500 X 350) grouped in an area 34009 X 200C9 and some fifteen more buildings, administrative and service type (average. size 150' X 35'), in a group just to the east. An undetermined number of smaller buildings are scattered throughout the area. 8"/41?Nw 118 (see enclosure No. 3). This military camp, covering an area 45000 X 30009,, is located seven mile* southwest of Chiang-Shan and adjacent to the rail- road. It is also served by road. It consists of approximately 65 barracks type buildings (average size 1500 X 351) and an undetermined number of smaller buildings.
